Want to delete your ALON account?
ALON Campus, lets users request deletion of account data, user content, and related app data.
How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] from the email address connected to your ALON account.
- Use the subject "ALON Data Deletion Request".
- Include your account email, school, and whether you want to delete your full account data or specific data such as posts, listings, photos, or chat data.
- ALON may ask for reasonable verification before deleting account data.
Data that may be deleted
- Account profile data such as name, email, school, role, profile details, and notification tokens.
- Private account data stored under your user profile, including account settings and related private subcollections where technically available.
- School verification materials and uploaded verification files, unless retention is required for safety, legal, dispute, or abuse-prevention reasons.
- Encrypted private chat backup and recovery data associated with your account where deletion is technically available.
Data that may be retained
- Existing community activity, such as posts, comments, listings, chat messages, trade, housing, and food activity, may remain in the service but is anonymized so the account appears as "Deleted User".
- Safety, moderation, fraud-prevention, abuse, or security records may be retained for up to 2 years, or longer if needed for a dispute, legal request, or safety reason.
- Purchase, payment, tax, audit, and legal compliance records may be retained for up to 7 years where required by law or legitimate business needs.
- Backup copies and system logs may take up to 90 days to be removed from active backup systems.
- Deletion request records may be retained for up to 3 years to document that the request was handled.
Processing time
ALON usually responds within 1 to 3 business days after receiving your request.
For full account deletion, ALON deactivates the account first. Eligible account data is scheduled for permanent deletion 7 days after deactivation, unless a longer period is needed for legal, safety, security, or technical reasons.
During deactivation and after deletion, access to school communities, posts, listings, chats, purchases, and other app features tied to that account is unavailable. Existing activity may remain visible without the original account identity.
